43rd Annual Anniversary of February Sisters Guest Speaker, Sarah Deer

Sarah Deer is Professor of Law at the William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, and co-director of the school’s Indian Law Clinic and Recipient of a 2014 MacArthur Foundation “genius grant.”  The title of her presentation is “Sovereignty of the Soul: Native Feminism and Violent Crime.”  Her talk will be Thursday, February 12, 2015 at 3:00 pm in the Alderson Auditorium, Kansas Union.

Prof. Deer’s visit to campus is sponsored by the Women, Gender and Sexuality Studies Department, College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, School of Law, and Institute for Policy and Social Research.

 

Sarah Deer received her BA from KU Philosophy and JD from KU School of Law.
