Meredith Caprice Trexler Drees
We are sad to report that Meredith Caprice Trexler Drees, who received her doctoral degree from the Department of Philosophy in 2013, died on March 28, 2026. A revised version of her dissertation was published as Aesthetic Experience and Moral Vision in Plato, Kant, and Murdoch: Looking Good/Being Good (Palgrave Macmillan, 2021). She was an associate professor at Kansas Wesleyan, and was a research fellow at Notre Dame’s Center for Philosophy and Religion in 2022-2023. As those who were around then will remember, she was a delightful person and a sharp and generous philosopher.
